30 day poetry challenge: day 14
Quarantine
My eyes burn like scolding coals,
Two white hot stones in my skull,
As I stare at the blue screen,
Slowly blinking.
Lethargy gains
My normally sharp mind blunts
And fails at simple tasks,
And inevitably wanders.
My heart pumps slowly.
Pump, pump, pump,
And my breathing is ragged.
5 hours is in front of a screen
Acts like a sedative for the brain
And a poison for the soul.
