30 day poetry challenge: day 2
The storm
Pitter-patter, pitter-patter, pitter,
To the beat, a million dancing feet
Tapping relentlessly upon the sheet
Of glass, pitter-patter, pitter-patter.
The wailing wind strikes up a singer’s tune,
Crying melancholy, sadness, despair,
Accompanied by the growling thunder
Playing it’s one note that fades very soon.
Pitter-patter, pitter-patter, pitter,
Along the streets runs a long river,
Swirling and twirling to the great thunder.
The concert of nature swells, grows, then fades,
Becoming no more than an aural haze,
Pitter-patter, pitter-patter, pitter.
