Life

The throbbing tide of the deep blue-green sea;
The dusky shade of the damp forest floor;
The great snow-capped Alpine mountains that bore
Into the sky, rising high above me.

All of Nature’s majesty and much more;
The beauty of the Arts and Sciences,
Noble endeavors both, cults of Vices;
Sweet laughter from the lips of a lover;

The pleasing sensation of a good meal;
The comfy feeling of an old blanket;
All the things in all the world that makes us feel.

These are the things that make life worth living,
The things that make us laugh or cry or shout,
These are the things we all live for.
